This requires you to empty your bladder 1 hour prior to the procedure, then drink 3 glasses of water and hold it. Do not empty your bladder again (your appointment may be delayed if your bladder is not full).
For many women referred for a pelvic ultrasound, a transvaginal scan is often an essential and routine component of the examination. This method allows for clearer, more detailed images, significantly enhancing diagnostic accuracy. Performed with an empty bladder, the transvaginal scan is generally more comfortable for patients compared to traditional pelvic scans.

The transvaginal ultrasound involves the use of a slender, lubricated probe—slightly wider than a tampon—which is gently inserted into the vagina. This process is conducted with care and sensitivity by our skilled sonographers.

Following the scan, the images are carefully analysed, and a comprehensive report is prepared and sent directly to your referring doctor for further evaluation.
